this might be a silly queston but the chips and wee boxes you get on ebay for under £10 and offer 30+bhp are they any good or just a con you just plug into the maf sensor and the engine thinks the air is cooler so gives more fuel or so it says

has anyone got one and did it work

Basically they are a good way to kill your engine.

Proper remap is the answer

 

As Above.

By fooling the car into thinking the air is cooler is going to allow the car to run more boost etc all the timing is going to be wrong, and the temp inside your cylinders will go up.. this will lead to det and a failed engine....

So please walk away from this cheap Mod..... as its a Sure way to cost you 2K + on a rebuild
