Is it possible to disable the immobiliser in the ignition so the "key" symbol on the dash doesnt light up?

I have wired up a remote start but it will only work when the key is put into the ignition therefore utterly pointless!!

I tried bridging the two wires, which does make the light stop flashing , but the car still wont start.

Any ideas??
