Default same old question

i only use my car once or twice a month,i imagine the oil drains completely in the time it is stood.Am i correct in thinking on start up my engine would be bone dry for a few seconds? Can anyone tell me which oil would be best to avoid this?

Filter will stay completely full as points downwards. Some oil will remain in rest of system and particularly in the bearings. High quality synthetic oils are polar (ie hold an electrical charge, see magnatec adverts) and remain attached to metal surfaces. Use a decent oil and leave it at that.

Some cars have filters that point downwards which must drain drastically between every start, can't be prefilled on oil changes, but you don't hear of them going bang all over the place.
