Default A little help please

Hi I have just bought a 1999 Impreza wagon and compared to my Saab aero it sounds really noisy and I was wandering if this is normal .Its sort of like my old Landrover .Is it because its 4wd ?

Is it easy to fit a rear wheel bearing ? and if not how much should a garage charge ? And how much roughly to have a standard clutch changed ?

Apart from the noise and the bearing I love the car and have decided to trade the Saab for a 2005 wrx .

Any help would be greatly appreciated .

Thank you

Chris

It might be that a previous owner has fitted either a aftermarket exhaust system or just a back box. People do this as it is the characteristic sound of a Subaru and therefore you can hear one coming from a distance. Not sure about doing a rear bearing as I have not done one.

Hope this helps Steve

apart from a nice growl mine does not seem noisey on the road,i would say it feels very smooth.
