WHAT POWER CAN I GET FROM A REMAP
HI
I WAS JUST WONDERING WHAT POWER CAN I GET FROM MY UK TURBO WITH A REMAP ITS A 1999 FULL DECAT INCLUDING DOWNPIPE ( this is a 3" bellmouth down to 2.5") AND HOW QUICK WOULD IT BE, ANYWHERE NEAR A P1 OR NOT. AND WHAT WOULD BE THE BEST ECU.
THANKS ANY INFO PLEASE

You can have it remapped using Ecutek software. We would normally expect to see somewhere near 250 bhp comfortably, which adds around 40 bhp from the standard figure of approx 210. Obviously the figures vary due to a long list of reasons, I'm just giving you a ballpark figure. It's certainly enough to be worth the cost! A P1 theoretically has 280 bhp.

THE REASON I ASK IS SOMEONE TOLD ME YOU CAN GET 280BHP OUT OF THE STANDARD TURBO IS THIS CORRECT OR ARE THEY DREAMING.
THANKS

don't do friendly rollers..
I tend to use Surrey Rolling Road who are independent and therefore have no reason to fiddle figures, or the road.
I road mapped a td04 equipped wrx newage yesterday and as we were close to said rollers did a power run.. 280bhp

I seem to remember you mentioning that...
Listen to JGM and use a respected mapper and, as said, you could see around 280bhp. Remember though that figures aren't everything, the most important thing is that you car will be totally transformed. I had my UK MY99 mapped by Bob Rawle, using Ecutek and its so much better than previous and worth every penny.
Every car varies though, but 280bhp is possible out of a TD04 without too much grief IMO
Sorry for bringing it up but didn't want to make another thread for the same topic, My 03 WRX Blob is booked in for an ecutek in 2 weeks and wondered if I will see near 280bhp with a Blitz back box, Blitz panel filter and Prodrive sports cat/fuel pump?
It's currently 187.3 at the wheels.

FTR, your current 187.3 at the hubs equates to about 230bhp at the fly, which is a nice c.10bhp up the quoted 225PS (221bhp) for a Blobeye WRX.

Cheers! So much for Prodrives 265bhp claim! AET said the 187.3whp was about 240-250bhp but that seems a touch high after reading about RR transmission losses. Feels quicker than the 261bhp evo IV I had though.
Hmmmn, the Evo VI would be a similar weight to a Blobeye WRX I think. Evo VI GSR is 1360kg and the WRX is 1375kg IIRC...

[graphic designer mode]You need to crop it down - after all it needs all the help it can get, what with it being a max of only 80 x 80pix![/graphic designer mode]
Well, unfortunately for me, it's not far off!
In any case check out my new, improved, jubblies!...
