Default Flamer kit

Hello all,

I have had a flamer kit fitted about a year ago but it never has actually worked.
When i switch it on its buzzing which means its working but i dont think there is enough power as its only buzzing lightly.
Which make me think that i will need to rewire it to the battery for more powerful earthing.

Do you know anyone in Sussex/Surrey area that can do that??

Be thankful. Unless, you like to burn/discolour your bumper, amongst other negative things.

I seem to forget how many idiots are here.

Having one is a personal choice. If you want to have a go at someone or something find a diffrent forum

As i said having one is personal choice dude no need to comment like that. This forum is not to have a go about personal touches on our cars. If you had some advise you could have said it would be your choice not to have one....obviously you are using this forum as a way of letting some steam out, i tell you what go to the gym mate you will feel a lot better after

The plug should be tapped at the end where the tail pipe is, usually at the top of the exhaust if theres enough clearance there. The 12v feed should be direct from battery if you want good results.

The buzzing means that there's power there as coil is buzzing, but then your problem may be your lead from coil to plug, the plug itself, or a bad grounding on the exhaust.

Good Luck

you also only have flames if there is unburnt fuel in the exhaust, if you do not have unburnt fuel then there will be nothing for the spark to ignite. Hence lesser flames / no flames with the Cat in due to the mesh filtering most of the fuel.

I have sold thousands of Flamer kits on ebay and if you have any problems just give me a pm and I will offer any advice.

If its still got the cat on, you'll really struggle.

You make them yourself, cover your car in glue, then drive as fast as you can through Halfords.

Bin the standard fuel pump and fit a Walbro fuel pump and two or three spark plugs...that will give you flames lol

dont listen to ra dump if you want one you have one mate , just if you have a cat fitted thats probably where your problem is as it will not be sending the unburned fuel out , i fitted one aswell and its pretty impressive, although when giving it a boot it smetimes does it on gearchange anyway

Go on Ebay and check out the one made by Evolution Foundry Ltd (EFL).

You have an ignition coil, module, HT Lead and spark plug wired to a switch on your dash so you can turn the spark on and off. When you want flames you flick the switch and then when you come off the throttle your unburnt fuel is ignited by the spark.

For best effect you would want to blip the throttle on down shifts or whenever you come off the throttle give it a quick blip just after and it will chuck extra fuel in for bigger flamage!

An interesting point, about being a **** that is. I was at a wedding reception recently and was chatting to the bloke next to me. He asked what I drove, and when I said I drove an Impreza he called me a **** too. Also claimed I was sad and had a mid life crisis. So, before we all start slagging each other off for personal choices and making slightly personal judgements take care, because as a community we are not highly thought of it appears. I agree, we all have personal choices, and I'm happy to leave a thread alone if it doesn't interest me. It might also put folks off posting if there humiliated.

NB: the only reason I clicked the thread as I didn't know what one was either. Now I do.

Nice, friendly, non-judgemental bloke then?

Unfortunately, Impreza (and Evo) owners do tend to be thought of (by those that just don't get the cars) as pretty much lowlife.

We just have to live with it, I guess.

What a $hite thread with some $hite info....

You need to de-cat, you need a VTA DV and a spark in the exhaust.

Rev the **** off it. and you have flames.
