The nuts are the internal one's, the wheels are Rota's. I did see somewhere these nuts can split if overtightened.

yeap thats right i brought a set of tpi ones cost about 55 quid so not really cheap, split one when i put them on and another when taking them off and the wheels had just been refurbed, did manage to get them off without any damage to wheel tho

its all about how you keep the driver bit totally square on when doing it,
from what i can gather there is no issues with the RAYS ones but then there twice the price

i have now gone back to external black steel ones just mainly due to having yellow wheels and i do remove them quite alot to clean

OK, I'll be putting them on tomorrow then I'll get the garage to check the torque carefully! Cheers, Mick.

Handbook says 65 ft-lb dry. Ultralite website says their nuts must be coppper greased. Take your choice, personally I copper grease mine because they can be undone when I want.

Limit on a 12mm stud/bolt is about 90 ft-lb dry so 65 lubricated should be ok. Arguably torque should be 15% less than stated figure when lubricated, ie 55 ft-lb ish, I still use 65.

Had a mate with a BMW that had greased bolts and got screaming hot on track and when he retightened his bolts to 90 ft-lb they stretched alarmingly and had to be replaced. (I did tell him 65 was enough).
