import ecu into uk car can it be done
hi there i was wondering if it would be easy to put an import ecu into my car its a uk 1998 terzo with 3 plug ecu i have an import engine in to and wat one to get any help with this will be good

there are a few issues..
the fitting issue - the pins need altering on the ecu wiring loom.. you need to swap two pins and move one.
The enginebay issues.. depending on which ecu you get you will need to match the spec.. the same turbo, the same maf, the same injectors, also if you have sti engine then you use the sti ecu, wrx if you have a wrx engine etc.
I have seen WRX with the same maf as the uk and also with the same as the sti. . I have also seen the WRX with 440cc injectors and with 380cc injectors same as uk.. I am not sure whether there is a cut off for these changes like MY97 or just the MY98 etc..

the engine is sti i no it has 550cc injectors and purple labeled maf i had just vf 35 on to it had vf 24 on it before was well dissopointed with its nowere near as fast now i think its still running the uk ecu and my cars the hot key on it would 75 ecu be a good one for it cheers

You cant just change stuff and expect the ecu to cope.
It needs an after market ecu and to be set up properly with those mods else it will need another engine swap
