Default NEED HELP PLEASE HELP

i have a 01 subaru impreza, quiet recently it has started to back fire.... now i have fitted a BOV 2 days ago, i have notice a whining noise, but i will only do it when under load. when im stationary just reving it up it will not do this, it also back fires when stationary and sounds like a bag of s**t, any help will be greatfull

I reckon your turbo has blown mate had the same problem so I fitted a BIG turbo conversion All sorted now!!

well its holding boost and not loosing power. its only started whining since i fitted the BOV, cud it be that? it aint a standard engine got reciepts of like 2.2k of engine work done on it, as for the backfire, cud it just need a good service? was done like 3-4 months ago tho?

Yea same prob on mine mate fitted the wrong BOV and the garage reckoned that was what blew the turbo and made the whinning... didn't have the backfire though? Hope this helps you

well i have had the BOV on for litterly 24 hours and aint even drove it that much to to and from work, and thats only 4 miles each way so i done about 9 miles since it was fitted

Remove the bov and see if it helps.....

think thats what im gonna do, have tried to attempt it but it kinda hard to get the original back on the recuirclating pipe, not allot of room!! think if it still there am gonna take it to chandlers subura, let them ahve a look at it

It only takes a second to blow your turbo if the BOV is at fault you will have already had compressor surge which would stall the turbo and damage the shaft, the garage changed my BOV when fitting the new big turbo kit but if you are sticking with standard parts I would guess a good second hand turbo could be bought for less than £500 then fitting hope that helps
