I have just fitted an apexi power fc into my 1995 wrx automatic,the car runs fine at the moment but is booked in for a remap very soon.
Since fitting the power fc when i turn on the ignition & the dash lights illuminate,the POWER light comes on as it should (switch on gear shifter) soon as i start up the engine the power light flashes for about 10 seconds then goes out & stays out. the car runs fine & changes gear fine,is this light flashing because of the ecu ive fitted as it didnt flash with the old 4b ecu?

can only assume so rob as the ecu thats the only thing to have changed.
power button is still working correctly?

 

yes,once the POWER light has stoped flashing the light comes on & off as it should when you press the button on & off. But im confused as ive read on later model imprezas the auto boxes have a control module,i was pretty sure my early auto box is fully mechanically controlled as ive looked at jollygreen monsters ecu pin outs & can not find any autobox control wires going to the ecu.

i don't think it will be a long term issue and is most likely not a big deal.
not sure what the difference will be using the apexi with the auto (wondering myself) i guess the map thats installed on there now is from a manual maybe?
