Help...oil leak?
Hi all,,i have a uk my98 turbo. last night i lifted bonnet after seeing smoke and found oil sprayed all over the bonnet drivers side, and around the brake block thing and the black plastic cylinder thats piped up to the turbo?(sorry for the lack of technical knowlage).I also have just fitted a forge dump valve but surley this isnt the cause of my problem is it?
I would be greatful for any ideas to what it could be before i put mi overalls on.
Regards Rich

Sounds like excessive crankcase pressure blowing the breather off, which will have nothing to do with the DV..!?
Check to see if the breather hose is still connected to the block (located below front drivers side corner of intercooler).
Also, take air filter out and see if there's oil inside the turbo inlet pipe (ie air box-turbo).
Did you notice any excess noise or lack of performance when this occurred..?
Don't want to worry you too much but the last scoob I saw with similar symptoms had a damaged piston ring..!

Ok the plasic cylinder which i said was attached to the turbo,is not.. It has 3 pipes purge, fuel and second purge,,the oil seams to be coming from that,,is this the breather? should i be worried or just drive it and keep my eye on things.Just 1 other thing i didnt mention was i knocked i pipe off yesterday and the car overboosted a few times, could this of caused the release of oil/high pressure?
