dv removal

Default dv removal

hi guys as it stands just now ive got a forge dv fitted to my p1. its the one that goes straight onto the intercooler. now iam going fmic and was going to run it with no dv. how do i do this and is it a good idea?

just block off the vacuum pipe that goes to the dump valve, once the new cooler and pipework is fitted.

....if you search, this topic has been argued/discussed several times.

depends what turbo you have, how much boost etc.

it WILL reduce the life of the turbo.

sounds great, less lag.

.....I'm one of the ones that say 'yes' run it without.


but the decision is ultimately up to you!


....some guys on here have been running without for years without a problem.

Need to know which turbo you have fitted.

IIRC the TD series are tougher than the VF series, so can cope without a DV.

This seems to be a fashion these days, my 20G runs with no DV, and no probs.
