Default Thanks to Enginetuner

Following the break down on the way back from a rolling road day on 18th October the car is now back on the road........

It was delivered to Enginetuner in Plymouth on the back of a truck and off to work they went.

The engine was stripped and a new crank and rods fitted. The opportunity to fit some new cams and a cosworth sump baffle was also taken, along with the installation of the new Simtek with anti-lag and launch control so the spec is now as follows:

1997 impreza sti type r

Wheels: 18” Prodrive Oz Superleggra (Anthracite) with Yokohama Prada spec 2 tyres

Brakes: AP racing 330mm 6pots (front) AP racing 4 pots (rear)

Transmission: v9 6 speed gearbox, Exedy twin plate cerametallic clutch

Fuel system: Bosch 040 uprated fuel pump, FSE fuel pressure regulator, 10% methanol, parallel fuel with top feed injector conversion, 1000cc Rochester injectors

Exterior styling: v6 Bumper with P1 splitter, crystal light conversion, STi mudflaps

Exhaust: RCM wrapped headers, Ronin systems custom 3” full exhaust system

Engine: Coswoth 2.5 short engine, PEK con rods, RCM pullies, RCM induction kit, RCM oil pump, RCM catch tank, Cosworth sump baffle, Piper cams

Turbo: RCM GT35R with ported shroud, Front Mounted Intercooler, Tial external wastegate

Electronics: Simtek ECU with anti-lag and launch control, HKS turbo timer

Interior: Blitz DCII gauges – Boost, Oil Pressure, EGT, blue dash light conversion

So off we went to run in the engine again.......

And then a small matter of the mapping after another running-in session.

The graph was produced with the boost set at a maximum of 1.6 bar.

Thanks to Derek Clarke from South West Customz and also Alan and Martyn at Enginetuner for all their help and advice throughout the rebuild.

Top quality service as always and I'm very happy as a result. When I get my next desire of 600+ bhp you know where I will be heading.....
