Default ***live wire location***

i have bought some blue leds to rig up in my door cards (like an Audi/vw etc).

After spending ages trying to find a wire that is live only when ignition is off im stuck!

i managed to do this mod on my audi but got a head ache with the scoob.

Can any 1 give me an idea how to wire these so they stop flashing when driving the car.

Cheers
G

There is normally a connection on the ignition for this, you may have to solder a wire to the terminal.

Please test this first with a meter and make sure all connections are fused from memory you need a permanent live i.e. to the clock or to the radio memory and a connection to a switched + i.e. the live on a clock or radio that illuminates when you turn the ignition on.

What happens is that when the ignition is turned off the switched live turns to a negative and the LED should illuminate if you have the polarity correct way round.

Like I say I have not done this for years so check with a multimeter or 12v LED first.
