Default Could intermitant high idle be caused by

an electrical problem?, like a wire shorting/arking?, insulation melted off a wire and shorting etc?, bear in mind my idle fluctuates between 2.4k revs and normal only, not in between or higher ever, this is when engine is hot and cold?, thanks

sounds like the TPS is out of adjustment. if the ECU doesn't think the throttle is closed, it won't control the engine speed to make it idle normally.
