Default INJECTORS - WRX

Hi all. I need some new injectors for my 97 WRX.

Is there any point getting some larger ones or will standard ones be ok if i'm not looking to increase my bhp. I dont want to waste money for the sake of it ! Is there any advantage getting some 555's for example....???

Also - does anyone have any idea where best to purchase some from? I cant see any part numbers on my injectors so i'm scratching my head of what to do.

Peace 7 luv.

There is no advantage to having bigger injectors, unless you need more fuel.

Why do you need to change the standard injectors ?

Loads of secondhand phase 1 injectors out there. No need to replace four if only one is defective. How do you know it is U/S?

U/S ?? Its had occasional miss-fire which kept coming and going. Now its running on 3 cylinders 90% of the time. All water levels are fine, no 'dangerous' looking smoke from the pipe so initially i thought it could be electrical and so far replaced plugs, leads and coilpack, (airflow meter has also replaced as needed doing) and problem still persisted.

I've now dicsonnected all 4 injector plugs 1 by 1 and found the culprit cylinder (Number 1 i think -Top right as yo look at the engine ???)

I'm doing a compression test this morning when the enemy has made my bacon butty and hopefully all will be ok before i go ahead and buy some injectors this afternoon.

Any other advice welcome... i'm no expert when it comes to engines and this is my first skube.... only had the car for a few months so might be missing something obvious.

Thanks for the tip. May just replace the one i think is dodgy now instead of all 4.

Peace.

If you need a single 380 cc injector I am sure I will have one or two or ten here.
Sometimes a miss can be due to a poor plug terminal connection.

P.S. £10 to cover the postage and I can send you one if you e-mail your details. Good luck with the compression tests.
