Default induction help required

hi there i have a 97 jdm sti and would like to know the peoples choice of induction kit as i been told to stay away from them till i get the maf removed is this true ?

I use and apexi power filter used them on every other car ive had could never fault them, there also oil less and dont damage the afm where as some car afms break becuase of the oil on the filters so i was told.

i use the Apexi power filter as this is a dry system and isnt impregnated with oil which causes problems with the airflow sensor

ive just bought one from rcm which is a k&n. api recomended it. iam removing my maf though.
