Default wiseco piston offset

what the best way to find the offset of the wiseco piston, i kno the dot shows the piston should face forward but where the gudgeon pin sits looks center of the piston not offset.

trying to fit and a bit confused.

They should, but they don't. Luckily the Wiseco design is totally symmetrical anyway so even if the dot and writing don't look right it doesn't matter. The important thing is to get the pin offset correct. I had three that were 'right' and one that was 'wrong'.

IIRC the two RH pistons (1 and 3) need to have the offset downwards, the two LH pistons (2 and 4) have the offset upwards. Or is it the other way round? Anyway, the slip of paper in with the kit should say. But basically, ignore the markings on the piston face and just go with what the offset looks like on the gudgeon pin hole itself - I'm sure I'm right about that actually - it is offset low on 1/3 and offset high on 2/4.

To actually find the offset, well you can just look at it, and the hole will seem a bit closer to one side than the other. Measure just to be sure, there's not much in it, something like 2mm IIRC.
