Default ihi turbo on a classic?

ive got a lotus exige with the Audi 1.8t and a subaru ihi turbo (vf35 i think) im changing the turbo on my lotus to a gt30 so just wondered would the ihi fit straight on to my impreza turbo 2000 x plate? If so can i just bolt it on or will it need a full remap?

Physically it'll go straight on your MY00 classic, I fitted one to mine and all I needed to do was swap the top water pipe from the std turbo onto the VF35 (so the hose to the header tank fitted nicely)

It will need a remap though as the turbo is quite different to the td04

if my car is running standard 220ish bhp, when the ihi turbo is fitted and mapped what power can i expect to get? It will be the only mod as i dont want to spend money on the impreza but as i have the turbo i might aswel put it on. Unless it wont give me much gain or i can get good money for it second hand?

You will need some supporting mods or it wont be worth your while.

Full decat 2.5" exhaust from turbo back
Walbro in tank
K&N filter

plus the mapping is £500+vat.

I went down this route with a VF28
Full Decat or Sportscat exhaust from turbo back 2.5"
Walbro 255 l/hr uprated fuel pump
K&N panel filter and resonator delete
Cold air feed
Fuelab FPR
STi 8 intercooler

and saw 320/320.

how much would the ihi turbo sell for then i might not bother, the money can go towards the gt30 or are the ihi turbos not worth much second hand?

is the vf 28 a smaller turbo than the vf34 i take it or is the vf34 just a newer turbo model?

A bit of both really. I might be interested in the VF34 if the price is right as I'm having my WRX remapped in January and I've still a turbo to buy at the moment.
