Afternoon all

I've got a problem at the moment with the Scood leaking oil. I can see that there's oil around the oil filter, on the sump etc. This leak was happening even before I recently changed the oil, filter, sump plug washer etc.

I can't see where this leak is coming from but once the engine gets hot there's a strong smell of burning oil and if I've been giving it some beans then there's smoke visible coming from under the bonnet

A mechanic mate of mine has looked around and says he can't see where the leak's coming from. Does anyone know if this is a common problem?

Mine is a 1995 JDM WRX.

clean engine down with brake cleaner. cover suspect area with baby powder and wait for a leak. will see no probs where the leak is coming from.

il put money on it being a rocker gasket. very common problem. be running down onto sump nd on manifold hence the smell etc.
