Default Performance intercooler hoses?????

Hi one of my mates was telling me that I should change the hoes around the intercooler! he says it will increase BHP.
I know that Prodrive do something similar for the WRX But I am not sure on the STI. Does any know and if so is it an easy job?
Car is a 2006 STI cheers.

Your mate is speak cr@p, the only reason that Prodrive change the intercooler hoses is the higher pressure due to increased boost pressure that is run with the PPP.

If you are not running big power then leave it, I am running 360bhp and 380 ft/lbs and I haven't changed mine

I was recommended to add a silicone Y pipe from turbo to intercooler before remapping as the std piece is quite restrictive.

the STi hoses are better and do not need 'upgrading' although it wouldnt be an upgrade.
