Default Turbo cool down

I thought about buying a turbo timer but im told there a waste of time and just to let it cool down, How long do you let the car idle for before turning off, say for instance i will drive to work and not go over 4k i will let it run for 1 min and switch off, if i have really used the car, then the last few miles i will drive very carefully and leave for a couple of mins, is this right or am i wrong

You are doing everything you should. I have done the same thing for the last 7 years and have had no problems at all. I also avoid hard braking for the last few miles, you don't want a hot pad sitting over your disc!

best thing to do is to drive off boost the last couple of mile or so. and this way it has a proper cool down with all the airflow rather than the rad fans having to do the work.

.....IMO brakes aren't an issue (unless you drive around the ring to work )

The turbo timer i had gave me piece of mind on my last scoob, as it had the handbrake switch. This let me take the keys out when playing with the engine whilst running, knowing it couldn't be stolen.
I just take it easy for the last few mins of driving now.
