Hi

My passenger side door recently started closing with a nasty bang and the window didn't appear to be sitting right. A quick investigation has revealed that the window sometimes goes on the outside of the small plastic guide thing (no, I don't know what its called!).

Is there a way of adjusting this?

Any other ideas welcome as at the moment I have to lower the passenger window slightly when the door is shut then raise it again!

Thanks

Richard

Sounds like a dealer fix is required.

Sometimes the bolts inside the mechanism can work loose and the window goes way out of alignment.

If its really bad and the bolt holes are worn, its a new door - or so i was advised by my dealer. Luckily mine was repairable.

Hope this helps

Sorry, edited to say wrong smiley, should have been

Good luck with it
D

Hmmm, a dealer fix sounds like a bad solution!!!

The strange thing is that the window itself seems to fit perfectly and the little black plastic guide ear thing (yep, another great explanation!) seems to be slightly loose.

I'll take a proper look at the weekend to see if there's any way of adjusting this.

Thanks

Richard

Cool

Diablo,

Very common thing with Imprezas as mine did exactly the same thing on the drivers door.

You would think they could do up the bolts tight enough wouldn't you!

Hi Scoobyboy

I was wondering exactly what purpose they serve as surely if the window is adjusted correctly, it doesn't need this little "guide" anyway?

Cheers for the info, at least now I know I just need to remove the rubber to get at the screw. You never know, it may have just become loose and need tightening!

Thanks again

Richard

This happened to my drivers door window recently,
The bolts had worked loose and some of the holes were elongated .

I caught it just in time as it looked a bit of a mess, luckily enough i was able to re-align the glass and then nipped the bolts up.Once i checked the window was running smoothly,i undone each bolt one at a time and re tightened it using liquid thread lock.
