Default facelift ??

right im thinking of converting my early classic to a latter facelift ,the thing im woried about is the intercooler on mine its the early one on the slant and the facelift bonnet scoop is to suit the straight intercooler ,so really just asking anyone in the know or if you have done this will the scoop line up with the intercooler ??

no mate all later facelifts have front entry turbos and as a result the intercooler was made slightly bigger and mounted straight and early shape like mine have top entry turbos and slanted intercoolers

Yep, the pre-facelift v.1/2 MY93-96 (Nov 1992 - Aug 1996) cars, whether STi or WRX variants, all had the angled, 'slanty'-style TMIC.

WRX's variants had the black one with the restrictive plastic turbo-to-IC inlet pipe. The STi's had a silver one with a much less restrictive metal pipe/silicone hose inlet, and a slightly larger rear end-tank.

Mate, that's a very good question and one which I'd also like to know the answer to. After all, if the v.3-6 MY97-00 facelift bonnet's scoop doesn't fit over the early angled TMIC and seal properly, then it'll be detrimental for power... And a liability to the engine!

Well, loads of members have obviously done the front end facelift, so hopefully some will come onto this thread to tell us if the bonnet scoop does fit ove the IC okay, etc...

C'mon people, give us your input please lol...
