08 STi engine fault
Hi, has anyone got a new 08 model sti, we've just encountered major problems with ours, resulting in the lower block being replaced. Apparently its a CPU fault subaru know about but are keeping hush hush. Anybody else have this problem?

Hi, sorry I'm a total newbie to this. I've searched the net and not found any info on this problem. Where do you get your know how? Thought that if there was a problem we would have been contacted. Thanks for the update though

I believe the problem is in the ecu map on the standard car not the ppp.. as that map is different and the mistake is not in it.
they didn't set the knock load threshold high enough from what I have been told.. and therefore the ecu is not monitoring for det at full throttle and pulling the timing back as it should etc and therefore damaging pistons..
Not concrete but from a couple of sources and imho disclaimer etc
The best solution is to get it mapped sorry couldn't resist
