how to reset ecu

Default how to reset ecu

hi there,

want to reset my ecu on 2.0 sturbo forester ej20 engine, what is the easiest way to do it. have a keypad in the glovebox which is something to do with the alarm, do i need to input code in this if i disconnect the battery?

any advice?

disconnect the battery for half an hour then re connect it. your alarm should have an internal battery of its own so should be ok.

disconnecting the battery doesn't clear everything.. probably as much as you need but the alternative is the reset procedure which I have added to my website under help pages
