Default Are all cam sensors the same

Are all cam sensors for impeza turbo,s the same only i,ve just received one from ebay saying it will fit 1992-2000 but when it arrived its the wrong one , my car is a 1994 2000 uk turbo and the cam sensor has a black plastic top and thicker than the one i got which had a brown top , mine has also got black plastic or wax at the end that goes in the cam cover where as the one i got is just a full metal cover , any help would be grateful before i spend more money , cheers if i knew how to get pictures on this page i could show you them both together.

Im 99% sure that the one on the right is a crank sensor, not a cam shaft sensor. The cam sensor is the one with the Wrap around it, but it still lokks different to mine...

Brown one is a Crank Sensor and the black one is a Cam sensor with the bottom of it missing by the look of it - should look like the brown one on the bottom.
All the crank sensors are the same apart from the early V1 Impreza+legacy which had a long wiring harness attached.

The black cam sensor is as it should be. - some of the early 'plug on sensor' ones were made like that
