Default Safe boost on modded STI?

I have a 2004 UK STI, some mods inc - APS 3" exhaust system (inc sports CAT), ECUTek re-map, Uprated top mount intercooler, Roger Clark Air Intake, Uprated 225 Fuel Pump, SSQV Dump Valve, Zero/Sports Coolthermo, running 340Bhp.

Engine wise the rest is standard (turbo etc). It's running 1.5 boost, is this a safe level? Doesn't often get used at this level though as it's a daily car and not much chance going backwards and forwards to work.

1.5 Bar is safe with your modifications and re map. You can run slightly higher boost but it's safer to have it mapped to the higher boost rather than to modify the boost yourself.

Dont just fit a manual boost controller on this - speak to your mapper and get the ecutek altered. It does not cost much to do this and it will be much safer.

So are you saying 1.5 is not safe?? I'm not interested in adjusting it, just wanted to make sure what it's been mapped to run at is ok

Who mapped it?

1 bar is unsafe if it is detting

It's not all about boost - the fueling and timing are the big variables.

2.5bar may be safe if you took out 20degs of ignition. Might not go very well though! lol

As already said, best to discuss with whoever is mapping. Different people will do it different ways. It is not all about a preset boost level (as already stated).

Thanks for the info guys.

Previous owner told me it was mapped by Chris Davies, who I think is ex WRC who were based at Silverstone (I have invoice) but since then I think he is/running RaceSolutions - About Us

So assume he knows what he is doing?

It has always been ran on optimax/v-power.
