Default import ecu

right guys i have just bought a z4 ecu for my 96 classic uk spec, the ecu im told is out of an import type ra, thing is now its limited to 112mph NOT GOOD lol so if i buy one of these delimiting things off ebay or somwhare they say the chip also converts to mph on the clock but i dont have this problem so would it mess all my speed setting up ????

The Z4 ECU is from a saloon WRX not a RA, and i think you`ve got to swap a couple of wire`s around if your fitting it to a u.k car (not sure which ones though)

you have to swap 3 wires, 2 sensors and the fuel pump relay wire. just put my uk one back to the uk ecu as i'm selling it. if you need some help with which wires see this thread https://www.scoobynet.com/general-te...ont-start.html

just note it says apexi (which is what i put in mine) still needs the jap wire config.

1993-1996 do not need wires swapping.
It's a direct fit, but you will end up with the 112mph speed limiter unless you delimit or fit a chip to the spare socket.

The wire swapping in only applicable to Jap ECU after 1996 through to 2000.

no mate thanks for that i know i dont need to change wires over as i have had it running on the z4 ecu allready, just need to know if i buy a chip to delimit it off ebay, will it upset my speedo as mine is a uk which reads miles not km. allready

Buy a chip from Scott T,(polar performance)best chip imo,will de limit the car,map it for uk fuel,and give you increased boost too!

Nope chip won't upset speedo at all, will just allow you to go beyond 112mph (on track), if it states the limit is removed.
