Default Fitting headers, TD05 18G turbo and injectors

Hi,

I have a 2004 STI Type UK.

I will be fitting a TD05 18G turbo, GT spec headers, turbo back exhaust and injectors next week.

I have downloaded the workshop manual and have the torque settings for the turbo and instructions on fitting the injectors.

I have the turbo without any oil or coolant pipes. Will the existing pipes and fittings fit the TD05? I have gaskets for the uppipe and downpipe, what other gaskets are required?

What are the torque settings for the manifold, up pipe and down pipe???

Should i use any sealing paste aswell as the gaskets on the exhaust etc...?

Thankyou for the help.

hi mate
i have a post further down page 2 or 3 bout fitting a 20g to 05 sti
you need a fitting kit(apparently the banjo bolts differ)
injectors are apointless upgrade as the current 550's can cope with 18g upgrade....
where did you buy the turbo??
remap is also very important....

Hi mate,

Thanks for the info. I bought the turbo second hand, it is a Zen performance turbo. I have sent them an email asking if they sell a fitting kit.

I was thinking of fitting a FPR and running the stock injectors but i went for a set of 650cc flow matched injectors from Lateral performance as i've got a feeling i may want to take the modifications further at a later date

I was planning to have the parts fitted by a garage but after doing a few jobs on the car i am confident that i can fit everything myself!

The car is booked in for a remap with JGM!

Does anyone know if the haynes manual will have all the information that i need, from past experience i think it does have all the torque settings etc...

What do you have planned for your car?

Regards
Harry

If the headers are the three bolt type, I'd recommend fitting the up-pipe to the manifold whilst off the car, as one of the bolts is a complete nightmare to get to once on the car.
