Earlier Impreza turbos map sensor changing to MY 97 –00 map sensor
Have been reading some info off net, a upgrade for earlier Impreza turbos is the map sensor to a MY 97 –00 map sensor due to higher pressure rating.
Is this true? Does it plug staight into existing harnes? And anyone know what the specs are ie pressure readings ealier/later map sensors read up too etc.
Thanks

)v.3/4 97/98 = 1.7bar (or 1.8bar
)Not sure about v.5/6 99/00. You can also get after market Denso and Bosch ones.for very high boost applications, as these are rated between 2-3bar

To run more then 1.2bar under ECU control you will need the later map sensor.
It doesn't plug straight in as uses a different plug. But connector can be cut off and wired in OK.
The ECU will need remapping due to the different scaling of the MAP sensor.

No its not just plug in, it has a different scale and the ECU will think its running at lower boost. The early ECUs can be remaped to cater for this though
