Hiya, maybe looking at a 97 Impreza Turbo with low miles, did they all suffer from this or just some or how does it work? And how bad does it get? if its all of them around what mileage does it start?

Mine started at 75k miles - it's "common" on SN but no idea if that means 100% of cars.
Ask the seller NOT to warm up the car before you see it, as the slap noise will disappear on a hot engine if in its early stages.
Mine got so bad at 90k miles that I returned it early on HP.
If it has slap and you still want the car, then just remember that the noise will put off buyers/attract a lower cost when you want to sell it.
