Default Milltek 3" system

After chatting to my local guru

He recommended a 3" Milltek system, but as an "oldie" I want a quiet life, but don't mind some burble, but deffo don't want the "boom" on the motorway.

Trackday friendly would be essential.

So who has one, and how does it sound, and just how loud is it ?

TIA

The catted 3" Miltec is a tad noisier than the Prodrive system I had previously but I don't find it a problem on my 03 STi, and I bet I'm older than you! Motorway cruise sound level is no problem and the wife hasn't moaned about it! (She either finds it quite acceptable or has simply given up!)
The full system has a resonator in the downpipe and another in the catted centre section.
It's not cheap but seems good.

Dunx I have a full decat Miltek on mine a lot quiter than the likes of an afterburner and showed 95db at 6,000 rpm for trackdays but on full chatt on driveby is well over 100db as for motorway driving it isnt a problem and its also neighbour friendly

I have this too - full 3 inch decat Miltek.

92db at 2/3 rpm for track day noise tests - whisper quiet but still with the burble. Great on motorways and an all-round excellent exhaust that performs superbly. Good build quality too

I have got through 1 Miltek dp as I blew the baffle wadding out of the first. Christ knows how you get 92db at 3/4 revs. Even with the new downpipe on, I got 102 at 3/4 revs static at Snetterton and got booted off Dono a couple of months back with over 105db drive-by...... oh and that was with a turbo that had no blades on it at 1bar boost and 6degs of ignition removed!

I need to find a much quieter system.

I have just read up and I seem to have worked out why mine is so loud. Have you got a resonated centre section Duncan?

I have a resonated centre section and a resonator on my downpipe, it's v.quiet compared to my brothers RCM.

Hi, I have a full 3" decat Milltek and am really impressed with performance and sound . It's definitely on the quieter side but still has the burble so is ideal for daily driver etc. Also keeps the neighbours happier

Hi i have the 3"decat system with 3 boxes. Nice and quiet when needed but a nice sound when pressing on, would recomend it.
Been told the decat is quieter than the catted system because of the extra box.
Only thing is that the tail pipe is a bit big for my liking

I have the same and it's fine on motorway runs, etc but I also have noisekiller which maybe lowers the sound by another 4db ....
