imo don't bother spend your money on something a lot more useful.

If you still want to fit one the HKS SSQV seems quite popular

it all depends on what u want ie loudness etc, how much are u willing to spend aswell.another vote for hks from me, looks and sounds a lot nicer than my old bailey. fitting is well easy, even i managed to fit mine and im about as useful as stevie wonder in the dark!

I wouldn't bother.Had one on my last scoob, caused it to run bad,and made the car twitchy. There's a lot of posts about this,do a search.

Remember that after any modifications like that, you will need to remap.

This is to get the most out of the modifications, and to prevent the engine being damaged. Say for e.g you change your induction kit to one that sucks in more air, there is a chance that if you don't remap, the engine will run lean(too much air, not enough fuel in the fuel/air mix). This causes detonation, which ruins engines.

Unfortunately I don't think a 97 car can be remapped.

I have a 98 UK turbo and you can't map it. I had an Apexi aftermarket ecu fitted and mapped by Andy Forrest. Quite expensive though, compared to just a remap.

Have a look at the menu down the left hand side of his website. There is a section '97-98 UK/Euro/WRX' - check that out to see what is possible with your car.

97 can't be remapped you have to replace the ecu, as for the dump valve i have a turbosmart one on my uk turbo works with no problems at all although i do also have a apexi with a full remap. although turbosmart ones are a bit more expensive you can turn them up and down

Did i say his ecu could be remapped?
Did you look at the link?
I simply pointed the OP in the general direction of a mapper who could give him some solid advice about options to increase power.
Andy Forrest is in Scotland ,JGM is just down the road in Maidstone which possibly makes JGM a better option.

how mcuh money are u willing to spend mate? as with above front mount wouldnt do much without a remap, and i personally wouldnt go for one until i have apgraded my turbo.
im running a hks decat, blitz nur spec, hks DV , hks induction without a remap at the moment, things have been fine, running wise, but not much power gained due to standard ecu.
maybe start with some good induction?

That was a reply to the OP after he replied "how much for a remap", simply giving him another source of information - not an attempt to belittle any of the advice you were giving.

im not into like stage 3 500+ bhp my old intercooler has got all the veins bent and a bit c**p so insted of buying a new top mounted i would rather get an fmic and as for the induction im looking into the hks mushroom its already got a sortd exhaust system so am i looking more towards easy engine work FMIC, DV, boost controller etc
