Default gearbox issue

hi guys just wanna pickle ur brains a little.

does anybody know if its is possible to replace the centre diff of a normal sti gearbox, to that of a dccd type? providing you have dccd wiring loom, ecu and thumbwheel?? and would the variable diff feature work?

the reason i ask this, is because my v3 type r had gearbox code TY752VB4CA with the dccd. Now the dccd never used to work. Everytime i would alter the diff ratio with the thumbwheel the car would clunk to death and refuse to move at all!! Later on i read up about it, and apparently that gearbox code is linked to wrx/type ra/sti version 2.

My car should have had the gearbox code:
TY752VB5CA which is version 3/4

im just thinking that maybe it wasn't the actual centre diff that was buggered on my gearbox, rather that gearbox was not compatible with the dccd unit??

any help would be great

cheers

The TY752VB4CA gearbox code is from a Version 2 STI RA which had DCCD.
