Have you been working on your brake calipers?

Clunking when over humps or cornering, hmm have you inspected your shocks? A hairline crack or split in the shock would do this...

Also, I know you say its not the exhaust but have you change the exhaust recently?
Reason I ask is when I decatted mine, I had to remove the hanger underneath that goes nr the gearbox. Exhaust was nice and secure unless I went over bumps and it was banging on the underside of the car, took me a while to work it out

OK fitted a big brake kit a few weeks back and couldn't get the nuts on the mountings as tight as i wanted but firm enough i thought. I thought wrongly and within a couple of days they were rattling around inside the wheels. Get the car jacked asap and check the nuts are tight enough on the hub mountings etc.. It also sounded like something was about to fall off.

What did you have done out of interest?

I also had no judder, the only clue was the fact that adam chuckle i.e me had been under the car with spanners The brakes were fine but definate knocking rattling noise coming from front left and when i inspected the right hand side both had worked loose. From memory there is quite a high torque setting for these nuts.

I would be keen to check if it were me

Oh mate i have to laugh only because i had that locking wheel nut (the exact same one) they must have been standard issue on the sti5 and 6. I broke it trying to get my locking nuts off like you. What a b...tard. I had this issues 4 weeks ago!!!!! They are the worst design i have ever seen.....

I went to RSR and they put impact sockets onto the locking nut then used a ratchet.... I must warn you though they broke three socket heads doing it.

You could try yourself, get an imperial size socket just too small for the head and whack it on with a hammer, then use a ratchet!

I feel partly responsible for you misfortune
