Question Which Turbo?

Looks like my turbo needs replacing so I'm looking for advice on my options.

Car is a UK MY00 wagon, running a Link (no MAF), 3 port boost solenoid, HKS RS induction, decat (2.5"). Mileage 135k.

I'm not thinking of spending loads of money on upgrades right now just the turbo and remap to accommodate a different turbo if I change to something different. Guess I might be able to stretch the budget by a few hundred if there's gains to be had (i/c? Injectors?) and for the convenience of getting all the work done in one go rather than in stages.

Then again, given the mileage of the car, is it worth taking the head off to check the condition before making plans to upgrade?

Thx for looking.

assuming the injectors are the same as in my saloon (440's) then a second hand vf35 off a new age sti will give roughly 330ish bhp when mapped.

if you can get hold of a vf34 then all the better, but there very difficult to find second hand so prob wont be within your budget.

you can look, but doesn't mean it wont fail at some point anyway, also bear in mind at 330bhp your getting towards the upper end of the gearbox's safe runnign capacity
