Default leaking sump

i have a leak at my sump. can someone please give me some advice.

is it possible to access and remove the sump without removing the entire engine?

Yep, can be done from underneath the car. It's a real PITA job though, be prepared for lot's of oil dripping on your face! Get the car as high in the air as you can.

Some of the sump screws are inaccessible as the crossmember is in the way. I seem to remember having to undo the engine mounts and jack the engine up a little to get to them.
