my gearstick doesnt sit in the middle like it should, it falls, over and rests on the left, inbetween 1st and second.

its like some spring or something is missing to pull it back into the middle.

however oddly enough, if i move across from 3rd to 5th, there is stll the spring there, just not from 1st/2nd arcross to 3rd / fourth.

is it like a spring that has gone, or is it something more.

i can still select all gears, just i have to be morte careful doing it

 

Gaz-cole is right. There should be a spring connected to the bottom of the gearlever, above the rear of the gearbox. Doddle to get at if car is on ramps. Probably find it broken or hanging down from one of the brackets. Quite obvious where to reconnect it. Good luck
