Default Knocking from hub

evening all, got a knocking noise coming from my front nearside hub, I get a single knock whenever I go forward or backwards, had the wheel off to check the brakes, suspension and they are all ok, spun the hub back and forth and this seems to be where the knock is, anyone have any ideas?

I had a single "knock" on mine as soon as I went forwards then it wouldn't do it again untill I stopped then started again(Same in reverse). It turned out to be the brake shoes taking up the slack in the brake caliper.Nothing to worry about
Forgot to mention that it didn't seem to come from any particular hub.
If thats not the problem could it be a CV joint ?

is it more of a Tick/Click or a definate knock? If its a Tick/Click then from a few forums ive been reading the solution is simply to replace the hub nut and re torque up TIGHT! Mine is clicking the same way as you described but havent got around to trying this yet so am not 100% sure but worth a try.
