Question cat or no cat????

Can anyone help,.....
Ive gota 01 wrx uk300 which comes with the prodrive performance pack. As far as i can make out the pack comes with an ecu upgrade, stronger silicone pipe for the intercooler, prodrive backbox and removal of the 3rd catalytic converter.... Y is it called the 3rd cat?, r there 3 cats then and should there b 2 left? Or am i jus bein thick!!!!!!
Only the fing is i went to hav me car mot'd 2day an it failed on emissions. Natural idle was a pass, but fast idle was a fail... I had a look underneeth and couldnt see a cat so thought that might be y, but on other hand if its not ment to have a cat coz of the ppp maybe it just needs a tune up??? Please sum1 shed sum light...........

The 01 "bugeye" has 3 cats one in the downpipe, up-pipe and one between the downpipe and centre (3rd cat)I think that it was only the STI PPP that the 3rd cat was removed. I know someone that has an 01 wrx with a decat exhaust, still has the cat in the up-pipe and the car passed the emissions with the one cat, but he had an ecutek remap by AndyF, the ppp may overfuel causing higher emissions or you may have a problem with one of your cats.

A UK300 should come with 3 cats, The PPP uses a sports cat in place of the standard rear cat. Its just after the downpipe. It has the standard subaru heatshields on it so looks like a normal cat.
Thats what I was told anyway so dont quote me on it
