ok guys this is not a subaru but someone will know the problem, recently fitted new stem seal the a 2.2 sri vectra and new head gasket but oil is getting into the water system and vice versa.

have i just not tightened the head bolts right or have i done something else wrong?

car runs fine etc but just mixing oil and water.

this can only be the head gasket right?

 

is there alot of white smoke coming outta the exhaust?

problem was the car smoked and burnt oil so changed the seals.

on initial start up the car still smoked but then stopped after a good run.

 

Does the gasket need to be fitted a certain way?

 

When refitting the head and gasket, normal practice is to torque doen the head studs from the centre out, as if you're following a 'spiral' pattern...
