Default Cleaning turbo after blown engine

What is the usual treatment you give your turbo after a blown engine? I'm imagining it will have pieces of rod bearing in it.

My mechanic claims washing it through with petrol and then blasting it with an air compressor is enough.

Why would pieces of rod bearing be in the turbo?

Should have been clearer. I expect there to be tiny pieces of rod bearing in the turbo oil passages, carried there by the oil circulating through the engine. This is after a blown engine aka. spun rod bearing.

I'd go with your mechanic's way. Sounds reasonable enough. In fact, doesn't the oil line to the turbo have a restrictor in the head where it feeds to it anyway? So if there was a blockage it would be in the head, not the turbo.
