prodrive ecu??
#2
I've not long sold mine (blobeye). As far as I could tell there is no way of knowing, there was nothing stating 'Prodrive' or 'PPP' on it, and on mine there was also nothing on the grey cage it sits in.
I think the only definate way is to check the serial number with a main dealer. Also the car should have the all important certificate, but when I bouight my car - new from Subaru, I had to write the chasis number, reg number and mileage on it myself, so this is probably open to abuse!!!(fraud)
Also when I was selling mine, there was another for sale at the same time, but advertised as an ECU removed from a car with a Prodrive exhaust and Prodrive inter-cooler Y pipe. It DIDN'T state that the ECU was a Prodrive one and there was no mention of a certificate, and starting bid was £10. Nuff said really - be carefull!!!

the bugeyes are easy to tell as they have a board soldered inside, in fact save programming keys probably easier to fit the board in your own ecu. might be easier just to have a remap though as wouldn't work out a lot more
