Remap should set you back between £450 and £700 dependig on who you use.

The only other mod might be a fuel pump, but the one you have may be up to the job though

Id personally have a full de-cat, new fuel pump, and re-map, around 320psi or so

Is it worth the MOT failure risk/expense, when his target is 300BHP?

thats why i put both de cat and a sports cat. a sports cat is £300 decat £150 fuel pump £80 panel filter £45

so for an extra £275 to £425 than what he's already got i.e cat back exhaust is a small expense and you only need to remap once rather than desiding you want more later down the line costing more money
