Default Intercooler Question

I have a rolling road power tune up in 2weeks and whilst looking at my old black slanty type intercooler it looked a bit worn out.

I've seen a STi2 slanty type for sale for quite cheap and wondered if these are any better??

I'm guessing they must have some advantage over the wrx version, but how much better?
They look much the same apart from the colour.

Are they any better over all??

Looking for an easy straight swap??

Thanks

Don't half solve the problem and put a lot of effort in for insufficient benefit.
Fit a proven performance FMIC that represents very good value for money.
Hybrid GT Spec for your car.
Yes I am biased but the advice is sound as many will confirm.

I thought this might be the answer

I guess the answer to my question is no its not worth the bother to fit the sti2 TMIC.

I am considering a FMIC but wonder if its worth putting all the effort in for an old(ish) car, would like to though

Also with the STi8 TMIC is'nt that alot of modding aswell? i.e throttle body, brake res etc etc...

Thanks for the replies guys, much appreciated

I was just hoping for 280+bhp in the power run coming up shortly with the mods I have, just thought my old IC would'nt be up to the job.

Its in 2 weeks so was just after a quick solution to hit my target

The STi 8 IS a lot of effort and contrary to what some people say, I found it was not a particularly good solution on my STi 3 Wagon which has ACT monitoring equipment etc.
