Default 22690AA321 Lambda sensor???

i took my car to a garage and i've been told that the reason for my car failing mot on emissions is because of a faulty sensor quote "requires a new correct value sensor." is that just a lambda sensor???

they want £127.00 plus vat then 1 hours labour....

can i do it myself? they said its in the exhaust at the back of the turbo.

also is there anywhere i can maybe get it cheaper? i know there are £20 ones on ebay but will these work or is it best to get geniune parts

part no. they gave me for the sensor is 22690AA321

yes its the lambda/oxygen sensor, genuine subaru one is around £120 from your dealer and are plug and play, you can get a 3 wire universal Zirconia sensor from your local motor factors that will do the same job for around £35, you will have to cut and crimp/solder the wires but they do come with full instructions.
the wires on the standard sensor are- black= signal 2x white that are positive and negative, it doesn't matter which way around they go.
thirdly you can get an after market plug and play sensor that is around £65 from here- Just Lambda, Suppliers of Bosch and NTK lambda sensors including zirconia and titania sensors by post
hope this helps

very simple mate, take the old one out, put the new one in! i think its around a 22-24mm spanner, be careful though, if its very corroded, get a good dose of wd40 on it to loosen it up, it can be a bit of a bitch!
If you still have my number, give me a shout if you need to

Mike
