Have a look at your Piston Crowns :
If they are marked A or B, they are standard size and take standard rings.
If they are marked 0.25, they are oversize and take 0.25 oversize rings.
If they are marked 0.50, ........................//..........0.50.........//..........
If there are no markings, then measure the bore size.

Curious about this A/B marking.

I've got a set of used STi pistons to replace my cast ones and to go with new recon heads I have. 2 are marked A and 2 are marked B. What's the difference? They measure the same size with the calipers.

The block is stamped B on all four pots from memory. I've been told that A pistons into B pots is fine but not the other way round. How does this work given that they seemed to measure the same size?

Cheers
Jim
