intercooler undertray

Default intercooler undertray

right fitted a sti intercooler on 2001 wrx bugeye would i be able to fit sti intercooler undertray with standard wrx scoop ? or would i require sti scoop also?

It would be pointless to fit the STI i/c without the undertray as the tray dictates how much air cools the i/c and currently you won't be benefitting from the STI i/c over the WRX i/c. Therefore the undertray is a must imo.
As for the STI scoop.....it will certainly benefit as more is is allowed through the scoop, so go f or it imo. Remap is advisable after fitting the parts.

I don't really know what the scoop looks like on a bug-eye, but on my blob-eye I bought an STI undertray, chopped the big STI scoop part off and fitted the wrx scoop part using rivets. I.e. I still have the WRX scoop, but an STI undertray and no problems with charge temps even when it's hot.
