Oil Temp?
Recently got myself a 2004 STI Type UK.......
It's got some mods, one of which is ECUTek re-map, this is giving the car about 340Bhp. It has some Defi gauges fitted and I have only driven it for a few days since getting it and notice that the oil temp sometimes reads about 100, although sometimes around 90 too.
I haven't even had chance to drive the car anywhere near 'hard' yet as only been in 30-40Mph limits.
If it's getting up to 100 (according to the gauge) is this getting too high?
I know the under tray has been removed to help with cooling.

Thats about what you'd expect without an oil cooler. OK if you don't intend to go mad, after all lots of STi's are driving around like this without gauges so they've no idea of temps and can be blissfully ignorant. Sometimes knowing can lead to unnecessary worry.
If you track the car it will rise to about 120 which is getting a little uncomfortable and fitting a cooler would be wise.

Lol, I know what you mean regarding the 'worry' that they cause, because the gauges are there you tend to constantly watch them the whole time
I don't intend to track it so no probs there. I will be using it daily and just have the occasional blast
The oil that was put in it at the last service was Silkolene Pro S 10/50 Fully Synth Oil, any idea's what would be a safe temp with this oil?
Cheers

Absolute max is 130 but personally I wouldn't be at all comfortable there. After this oil will start to degrade (probably not much with a good synthetic like Silko) and also get very thin. Set your alarm at 110, you'll never reach that on public roads.
